Healing from Childhood Trauma: Embracing Inner Feminine and Masculine Balance

For much of my life, I felt disconnected from my emotional world—a beautiful, dark, nebulous inner realm. This dissociation often stems from deep-rooted childhood experiences. In my case, it began around age two when my parents divorced, and my father became my primary caretaker. Unfortunately, this also marked the start of years of molestation that continued until I was twelve.

Understanding Emotional Dissociation and Trauma

At a young age, my mind created blockades to protect me. I learned harmful beliefs such as:

  • It wasn’t safe to voice my ‘no’.
  • My body was an invitation to the masculine.
  • Men were not safe and were not responsible for their actions.

These beliefs caused a chasm in my psyche, distancing my inner feminine from the harsh realities of my daily life.

The Impact of Childhood Abuse on Inner Union

My father, also a victim of childhood abuse, lacked the capacity to handle my emotional expressions. This led him to suppress any emotional outbursts, teaching me to be pliable and easy with men. This suppression reinforced my belief that my emotions were a source of rejection from the masculine.

Physical abuse was common in my home, mostly directed at my older brother. Witnessing his suffering was as scarring as experiencing the abuse myself. As I grew older, the nature of my punishments took on a sexual tone, further damaging my inner union.

Healing the Inner Child and Reconnecting with Emotions

As I peeled through the layers of my own experience, I learned to witness, hold, and release these threads. This journey allowed my sense of trust and safety in the masculine to grow. I began to understand the dynamics of union within my body and the collective consciousness of the masculine and feminine.

  • Connection with Nature: Seek solace in nature as a sacred space for healing. Spend time outdoors, connecting with the elements and allowing nature to nourish your soul.
